On April 6th, 2009, online poker site Everest Poker has conceptualize a one-of-a kind promotion that will benefit all poker players who qualify for the 2009 WSOP (world series of poker) Main Event via the online site. Everest Poker will be keeping an eye on the progress of all players who qualify for a slot at the World Series of Poker Main Event in Las Vegas, totaling the winnings of those players who cash in.
Whatever total figure turns out to be, Everest Poker will then match that total figure up to $1 million, redistributing the cash equally among all the poker players who have qualified for the 2009 WSOP Main Event via the online site.
Everest's promotion, called the $1 Million Match, means that all poker players who have qualified via Everest Poker have an opportunity to make some extra cash even if they are knocked out from the first Day of the tournament. For example, if one hundred player were to earn their slots at the WSOP Main Event through Everest Poker and among those a dozen poker players cashed in for a total of $500,000, Everest Poker would match that $500,000 by giving each of the one hundred poker players $5,000 each.
According to the Nordic Regional Manager of Everest Gaming, Sondre Wasses, the online poker site made a big effort last year-the site's first year as an official sponsor of the World Series of Poker-to encourage more European poker players to participate at the World Series.
