The Chief Executive Officer of the European Poker Tour, John Duthie said that he was honored to help out especially Padraig Parkinson with this worthwhile and momentous event.

Last year, over 200 participants together with corporate and private donors managed to raise 50,000 euros for the charity Simon Dublin. Some of the players that attended the event are Donnacha O'Dea, Jesse May, Scott Gray, Julian Gardner,'Mad' Marty Wilson, Dave Colclough, Kevin O'Connell, Nick Leeson, Matthew Stevens, and Stephen Hendry.

The previous champion was former World Champion Noel Furlong. He will return to defend his title in the event and will be joined by "Mad" Marty Wilson who will host the auction.
