Cole South has been actively participating in the high stakes games on Full Tilt poker for the past couple of weeks and he was finally rewarded in a good way on July 31st, 2009.
One of the most well-known and respected instructors in CardRunners, South put in some considerable effort at the $200 /$400 PLO tables against the likes of Gus Hansen, Phil "OMGClayAiken" Galford, Rafi "howitfeelslike" Amit, sunra18 and Chau Giang. South, who came up through the ranks in the online poker circuit as CTS, seemed to have Hansen's number and stole numerous cash pot worth more than $100,000 from the Great Dane.
In the two biggest card hand of the game, which actually ranked as the twelve largest cash pot of the year, South flopped a two-pair against the pair of aces of Hansen. South secured his win when he rivered the nut flush to take home the $446,583 cash pot. Over the past few days, South has earned approximately $800,000 from the high stakes PLO games on Full Tilt Poker.
South is a concrete evidence to the popularity of PLO over the last few years. Although Hansen's performance in previous poker events are inconsistent, his performance $200 /$400 PLO tables proved that he still is one of the best poker players in the circuit.
