The 5th Ladies Poker Tournament by the World Poker Tour for the Susan Komen Breast Cancer Movement

The "Going All-in for the Cure" tournament sponsored by the world poker tour, has collaborated with Susan G. Komen for the Cure a global breast cancer organization, hosted the 5th annual Ladies Night on August 18th, 2007 to August 19th, 2007 at the Bicycle Casino in Los Angeles, California.

A participant's party started at 1:00 p.m. on August 18th, 2007 followed by the poker event "Poker and Pedicure" where the ladies can play WPT Texas Holdem poker with their cellular phones by Hands-on Mobile while enjoying pedicures. It starts at 3:15 p.m. on both days.

Annually, the Ladies poker night gathers hundreds of female participants from L.A., Hollywood actresses and female poker pros to play for the benefit of breast cancer research. For the first time in the history of the event, World Poker Tour is collaborating with the LPA or the Ladies Poker Association to make the tournament an official LPA tour stop.

The winner in the tournament will receive a seat in the final table of the Ladies Night on August 31st, 2007 where she will fight it out with female poker pros like Mimi Tran, Linda Johnson, Kristy Gazes, Melissa Hayden, and defending champion Joanne Lieu. The champion of the event will receive a $25,000 seat at the WPT World Championship in April at Bellagio casino.

The tournament will be aired on GSN in 2008. Both the WPT and Hands-On Mobile will make a donation of $5,000 dollars to Komen for breast cancer research. Bicycle Casino will also give 15% percent of each $1,000 dollars buy-in and will receive donations at the Welcome center throughout the WPT Legends of Poker event from August 25th, 2007-August 30th, 2007.

CharityBuzz.com is also hosting a charity auction for the event from August 8th, 2007 to August 23rd, 2007. The executive vice president of the WPT Studios, Robyn Moder said that they are looking forward to organizing the event every year because it is for a good cause.

The Buy-in cost for the event is $970 dollars plus a $30 dollars registration fee. The registration for the tournament begins on August 18th, 2007.

Players can pre-register for the tournament by calling the Bicycle Casino at (562)806-4646. Spectators can watch the taping of the WPT Ladies Night V on August 31st, 2007 by arriving at 3:00 p.m. Seating arrangement is on a first come first serve basis. The Bicycle casino can be found at 7301 Eastern Avenue, Bell Gardens, California.
