Poker Action at the Bayou Poker Challenge

As of May 21, 2007, it has been a challenging week for the first-time players at the Bayou Poker Challenge with several of the No-Limit Hold'em poker events won by players who are first timers at the event.

Nisan Cohen, one of the first timers at the event, won the No Limit Hold'em tournament held at Harrah's New Orleans with a $550 buy-in cost.

The event 10 for the 2007 World Series of Poker circuit stopped in New Orleans. The tournament saw a total of 622 players hoping to win the event of the game of poker. Nisan Cohen, a 35 year-old store proprietor from Gainesville, Florida defeated the rest of the field to win the championship, taking home a total of $84,468 and the WSOP gold circuit ring.

In 2nd place was Anita Vasquez, from Houston Texas. She is the only female to take 2nd place in a WSOP Circuit Event. Lisa Pickell is the lone female winner of the WSOP Circuit event championship. The rest of the final table was composed of the following players: In 3rd place was David Scarano from Seattle, Washington with $24,134. In 4th place was Tuck Trentham from Deland, Florida with $21,117. In 5th place was Mike Booth from Jacksonville, Florida with $18,100. In 6th place was Kit Riley from Dallas, Texas with $15,084. In 7th place was Aaron Baldwin from Oxford, Georgia with $12,067. In 8th place was "Player Jay" Bender from Atlanta, Georgia with $9,050 and in 9th place, Taylor Black from Mobile, Alabama with $3,318. The $5,000 poker main event of the Bayou Poker Challenge started that afternoon.
