The European Poker Tour Monte Carlo Grand Final Season Five

On February 20th, 2009, PokerStars, the world's biggest online poker site, announced the European Poker Tour Monte Carlo Grand Final Season Five schedule-Europe's biggest and richest 7 day poker event. The PokerStars Monte Carlo EPT Grand Final will run from April 27th, 2009 until May 3rd, 2009, feature 14 separate poker events making the Grand Final the most exciting poker event held in Europe.

The 14 poker events will stretch over one week to give players non-stop poker action in one of the most beautiful destinations in the world. PokerStars is doing everything to make sure that poker players from all over the world has a lot of chance to win their slot to the events.

Satellites are already running on PokerStars' online site for the Main Event. Last year's EPT Monte Carlo Main Event attracted more than 840 poker players, with 22 year old Glen Chorny of Canada winning the title and taking home more than $3.15 million. This year, the $12,633 (100,000 euros) buy-in cost No Limit Holdem Championship (NLHE) is set to break all previous records set at a European poker event. With more than one thousand poker players expected to attend the event, there is an estimated $12 million total cash pool.

The EPT Main Event is only one of the events-this year; there are two major new poker events-the 3 day $31,585 (25,000 euros) European High Roller Championship and 2 day $6,316 (5,000 euros) Pot Limit Omaha Championship (PLO). Satellites will be running for the PLO Event on PokerStars offering a 3 day weekend prize to EPT Monte Carlo for qualifiers.
