Day six at the 2009 world series of poker Main Event turned out to be a good one for poker pro Antonio Esfandiari. The well-known "Magician" had never cashed in the WSOP Main Event before this year but with just sixty-four players returning for Day 7, Esfandiari is right in the mix. The high-stakes poker specialist performed well on July 13th, 2009, ending up with $5.6 million and a spot in the top ten.
After surviving another tough day with numerous eliminations Esfandiari thinks that he got what it takes to make a good run. Esfandiari said that he believes that he will have a good performance with the help of his will and determination. Esfandiari knew that he was in for a good day when his KQ defeated an opponent's AK, with the card flop coming J-T-Nine. Esfandiari has been one of the rare poker pros at the World Series of Poker without a major endorsement from any online poker company but he states that might be about to change with some television coverage directed at him from his run at the 2009 WSOP Main Event.
Esfandiari will still be one of the players to look up to when Day 7 begins on July 14th, 2009. Team Full Tilt poker's Phil Ivey sits in 3rd place in total chips behind Darvin Moon and Billy Kopp but with two WSOP bracelets already this summer, he is one of the favorites to win a slot in the November 9 final table. Another poker pro making a good run in the WSOP Main Event is 2009 WSOP POY (Player of the Year) Tom Schneider, who is recovering from a challenging 2009 World Series of Poker with his effort.
