With the year 2008 quickly approaching, it is time to start thinking about the coming year ahead. There were about fifty five events in the 2007 world series of poker ending in the $10,000 main event, which attracted 6,358 players all over the world, each dreaming of winning the $8.25 million first place cash prize.
Jerry Yang won the Main Event bracelet. With the full schedule of the 2008 World Series of Poker out next week, poker enthusiasts will have a lot to look out for next year. After the end of the 2007 WSOP, staff solicited suggestions from poker pros, guests, media and poker vendors on how they can improve their offerings. Some of the changes in the tournament will be the fifty-five tournaments at the 2008 World Series of Poker.
All of the poker tournaments will also take place inside the Rio. The 2008 WSOP will also have bigger buy-in poker event but none more than $10,000 besides the $50,000 H.O.R.S.E. poker event. The decision to increase poker events that have a larger buy-in was the results of the requests from poker players that want additional chances to hone their skills.
The Rio will also be changing their food menu so that both customers and players can enjoy eating out in the casino. The 2008 World Series of Poker will also improve the spectator area so that a lot of people that want to watch the events can watch without having to look in vain for available spots at the spectator stands.
Aside from bigger buy-in poker event, the inaugural $1,500 event will have two initial days because of the high number of participants that want to join the event. Milwaukee's Best Light will be again the sponsor for the 2008 World Series of Poker.
