Poker Greats to Participate at the Great British Poker Event

On October 22nd, 2007, about five of the greatest players in the world have agreed to play in the Great British poker Tour Grand Final event. The players that will participate in the event include Jamie Gold, Antonio Esfandiari, Phil Laak, Jennifer Tilly and Robert Williamson III. They will play at the Gala Casino Harbourside in Bristol from November 5th, 2007.

GBPT Tournament Director Thomas Kremser said that it will be a good venue for players to pit their poker skills against one another. Jamie Gold is well-known for winning the biggest poker prize in the WSOP when he won the $12 million at the 2006 World Series of Main Event.

Antonio Esfandiari became well known when he won the 2004 Poker Classic in Los Angeles. Aside from being a good poker player in his own right, Phil Laak is dating actress Jennifer Tilly.

Jennifer Tilly won the ladies event at the world series of poker in 2005. Williamson is considered to be a formidable poker player and has won more than $2 million. The tournament has a total of $500,000. There are also numerous qualifiers that are available for players as well as buy-in option to the main event of the tournament for 2,500 pounds.
