Casino at the Empire Hosts The World Series of Poker Europe

It was announced on August 5th, 2008 that the world series of poker Europe will be returning to its first venue at the Casino at the Empire. Last year. The WSOPE was held in 3 different casinos but this year, the Empire Casino will be the sole home of the largest poker tournament event in England.

Ty Stewart, the World Series of Poker Director of Marketing said that they are eagerly awaiting the WSOPE this year. He added that they have improved the events for this year's event in order to appeal more to players and widen the global television exposure of the event.

There will be 4 poker events in the 2008 World Series of Poker Event like the brand new 1,500 pounds No Limit Holdem aside from H.O.R.S.E, Pot Limit Omaha and the No Limit Holdem poker event. Some of the poker players that will participate in the event are Chris Ferguson, Erick Lindgren, Daniel Negreanu, Jennifer Harman and Phil Hellmuth. Some of the final 9 players on the WSOP Main Event final table on November 2008 will also participate in the event like Ivan Demidov, Peter Eastgate and David Rheem.

Last year, Annette Obrestad outwitted 622 poker players to win $2,013,102. PokerListings.com will cover the event on September 19th, 2008. The complete schedule for the 2008 World Series of Poker Europe are: September 19th, 2008-Event Number One 1,500 pounds No Limit Holdem (3 day event with Day one). September 22nd, 2008-Event Number 2 2,500 H.O.R.S.E. (3 day event). September 24th, 2008-Event Number 3 5,000 Pot Limit Omaha (3 day event) and September 27th, 2008-Event Number 4 ten thousand pounds World Championship No Limit Holdem (5 day event with two Day 1's).
