Academy of Country Music Holds a Charity Poker Tournament

As part of the Week Vegas Goes Country celebration, the Academy of Country Music announced their plans on April 13, 2007 for their inaugural Charity Poker event. The main beneficiary of the event is the Academy of Country Charitable Organization. Big and Rich will be hosting the poker tournament on May 14, 2007, with fellow co-host Two Foot Fred at 2:00 pm in Las Vegas.

The poker tournament is an exclusive activity that is a part of the week long festivities in Las Vegas. Aside from being the venue of the 42nd Yearly Academy of Country Music Awards, it will also be the home of the tournament. The champion of the event will receive $10,000 and the top 10 finishers in the event will also take home some money.

Big Kenny commented that they are happy to be part of the tournament. John Rich said that the event is sure to be an exciting one.

Participants have to pay a total of $375 with some part of the profits going to the Academy of Country Music. A player must be 21 years old and above in order to participate in the game of poker at the tournament.
