The Start of the $10,000 POT Limit Holdem Event at the 2008 WSOP

On May 30th, 2008, the 2008 world series of poker (WSOP Main Event) has started and poker fans have a lot to see during the event. Before the start of the 1st of the fifty-five tournaments, the $10,000 POT Limit Hold'em tournament started, spectators were entertained by the University of Nevada-Las Vegas' marching band.

That was followed by an address of World Series of Poker Commissioner Jeffrey Pollack and tournament director Jack Effel discussing the rules before giving the mike to Doyle Brunson to say the most well-known words in which is "Shuffle up and deal". Those words signaled the beginning of the WSOP.

The event attracted around three hundred fifty-two players like Phil Ivey, Erik Seidel, Chris Ferguson, Patrik Antonius, Erick Lindgren and Daniel Negreanu. 11-time World Series of Poker bracelet winner Phil Hellmuth is absent from the event.

Hellmuth may have skipped the event for the Event number two, a $1,500 buy-in cost No Limit Holdem Event, which is expected to host around three thousand players by Friday. Eli Elezra is the 1st day chip leader with 302,000 chips. Behind him is Amit "amak316" Makhija with 270,000 chips.
