$10,000 POT Limit Holdem Event Down to 70 participants

On May 31st, 2008, amateur poker players from all over the world come to the world series of poker event in Las Vegas, Nevada every year in order to try to make some name for themselves in the poker circuit. They are looking to win even a single event so that they can prove that they have the right to be in the same event as the poker professionals.

In this year's edition of the World Series of Poker tournament, a lot of poker professionals registered for the 1st event of the World Series of Poker, a $10,000 buy-in cost, POT Limit Holdem event. If the first 2 days of the POT Limit Holdem event are evidence about the things to come, the amateur poker players will have a difficult time in trying to win a WSOP bracelet.

Eli Elezra is the current chip leader with only 70 players left in the event. Around three hundred fifty-two players entered the event. Other poker professionals are also on the top players in the event. Poker pros Patrick Antonius, Phil Laak and Andy Bloch are currently in the 2nd to 4th place in the overall chip count.

David Benyamine is currently in 5th place. Aside from the top five poker players in the event, there are still a lot of poker pros within the 70 remaining participants. The first No Limit Holdem event will start on Saturday. It will be a 4 day event and the buy-in cost is $1,500.
