Annette Obrestad Crowned WSOPE Main Event Champion

On September 25th, 2007, anyone that thinks that younger generation of poker players is not worth watching is wrong. The world series of poker Europe Main Event was the evidence that the younger generation of poker players is not to be underestimated.

Before the WSOP Europe Main Event, Annette "Annette_15" Obrestad has been known to be a good online poker player. A lot of players nowadays acknowledge that teenagers are slowly becoming a force to be reckoned with in major poker tournaments.

Annette Obrestad's road to the top honors in the tournament was no easy one. She had to defeat one of the toughest player field in any poker tournament. Obrestad even managed to defeat top female poker pro Jennifer Harman.

Annette_15 fought it out against John Tabatabai in the heads-up showdown. In the end, Annette was able to defeat Tabatabai to win the 1 million pounds and the honor of being the youngest WSOP bracelet holder.

The final results of the tournament are: Annette Obrestad with 1 million pounds, John (Kunkuwap) Tabatabai with 570,150 pounds, Matthew McCullough with 381,910 pounds, Oyvind Riisem with 257,020 pounds, Johannes Korsar with 191,860 pounds, Dominic Kay with 152,040 pounds, Magnus Persson with 114,030 pounds, Theo Jorgensen with 85,070 pounds and James Keys with 61,540 pounds.
