Binions Poker Event Ends With Tournament of Champions

On November 2nd, 2007, the Poker Event of Binion culminated with the Tournament of Champions which happened after the $1,000 buy-in cost no limit hold'em poker main event that attracted 124 poker players like 2007 WSOP Main Event champion Jerry Yang. Yang was able to cash in the event but was edge out of the tournament before the final table.

Las Vegas poker pro Eskimo Clark and Mike Coglianese fought it out in the heads-up showdown. The total cash pool was $111,000. Clark and Coglianese, who is also from Las Vegas, decided to split the 1st place cash prize. Clark won $28,307 while Coglianese won $28,308.

Both players also won a slot to the Tournament of Champions. Each Binion's poker tournament awarded a single seat for every 50 players and 2% of each event's cash pool was saved to make up the prize for the Tournament of Champions. Brad Russell edge out thirty other players to win the majority of the $8,600 cash pool.

Binion's Poker saw a total turnover of more than 2,300 participants which produced a total cash pool of $385,000. Binion's Poker Manager Gary DeWitt said that it was a one-of-a kind event and they will definitely hold the event again next summer.
