Celia Lin Wins at the Macau Cup Main Event

After being crowned champion at the latest Macau Cup main event, Poker Stars Team Asia pro member Celina Lin grabbed the top spot on Macau Cup leaderboard for the event points and total prize winnings on July 17th, 2009.

The newest Macau Cup main event attracted its biggest playing field of 168 participants, making for a cash pool worth $1.6 million.

Although Celia Lin started the heads-up play with two-one chip disadvantage, she was able to climb back, causing 9 changes in the chip lead over the 4-hour heads up session.

In the end, Lin edged out Sammy "Xiuming" Huang, after spiking a king after getting it all in with K-nine vs. Sammy's 99. This main event triumph marks the biggest cash prize in Lin's career taking home a total of $400,000.

Not only is Celia Lin leading the 2009 Poker Cup leaderboard but her recent triumph gives her 4 final table appearances for the 2009 season, giving her a record 9 final table appearances in Macau Cup events.

The top MPC leaderboard finishers will win slots to compete for a $100,000 HKD package against Lin and her fellow Red Dragon Champion team members in the Tournament of Champions. The Tournament of Champions is scheduled to take place before the Macau Poker Cup Champions in December 2009.
