The 2010 PokerStars Baltic Festival

PokerStars announced on May 24th, 2010 the return of the biggest poker tournament in the region, the PokerStars Baltic Festival, which will be held at the Swissotel in Tallinn, Estonia on June 16th, 2010-June 19th, 2010.

Denmark's Peter Eastgate, a Team PokerStars Pro and the 2008 WSOP Main Event champion said that the Baltic Festival was an excellent tournament last year and he will definitely recommend it to his fellow poker player.

Peter Eastgate's fellow Team PokerStars Pro member, William Thorson of Sweden said that Swissotel in the Estonian capital is one of the best tournament venues that he has seen in his poker career. Following the record breaking first event in October 2009, the 2010 PokerStars Baltic Festival will have an improved buy-in cost of 1,500 euros, up from 1,100 euros.

The larger buy-in will surely attract well-known poker pros in the region and help ensure that new regional records are achieved in this year's tournament. The 2010 PokerStars Baltic Festival 2010is held in collaboration with the Olympic Casino. Players will be able to qualify online for the tournament with PokerStars.

Aside from the Main Event, a range of side poker events, cash games and Sit and Go's are also available. The official tournament program and the schedule for the online satellite events will be announced as soon as possible. The inaugural PokerStars Baltic Festival bought together 307 poker players from twenty-four different countries to create a prize pool of more than 300,000 euros.

The champion of the main event last year was Thomas Partridge from the UK, who won more than 75,000 euros. The 10,600 euros High Roller poker event was won by high stakes poker player Ville Wahlbeck from Finland.
