Professor Charles Neeson Forms Global Poker Strategic Thinking Society

A professor from the Harvard Law School with a special liking for online law has organized a think tank called Global poker Strategic Thinking Society or GPSTS, which he hopes will spread to other colleges and universities all over the world. He also hopes that they will use poker as a learning tool to teach the basic things in life and even war games at military schools.

Charles Neeson said that poker is a very useful tool in teaching young people the basic things in life. Neeson officially launched the GPSTS on August 19th, 2007 in Singapore during a conference called 'State of Play'. Neeson said that poker and the different techniques that are used in the game could be utilized to do something useful for the world.

Neeson said that the main goal of the GPSTS is to hold seminars in school and community facilities which feature poker as a tool to teach logical thinking.

Harvard will be the first location of a GPSTS seminar and the group hopes to hold tournaments patterned after NCAA events which will feature groups of poker players composed of students from graduate programs to people from different parts of society.

Neeson said that the basic principles on poker can teach basic skills, logical thinking, geopolitical study, problem assessment and even financial management. The GPSTS' main goal is to make an online curriculum on poker that will gather the brightest minds in the planet, inside and outside of the usual school setting.
