Jeffrey Lisandro Wins the $2K Seven Card Stud Event

On June 9th, 2009, poker pro Jeffrey Lisandro won his 2nd world series of poker bracelet in a situation oddly similar to his 2007 championship. Similar to his 2007 World Series of Poker bracelet triumph in a $2K Seven Card Stud Event, Lisandro's win on Monday came in a $1,500 Stud tournament.

The man who finished in 2nd place behind Lisandro, Nick Frangos, managed to make it to the final table but managed to only finish in 4th place this time around. Lisandro said that would have loved to play Frangos in the heads-up showdown again but he is just happy that he won the championship.

The title was practically handed to Lisandro in a silver platter, edging out a final table that also featured Team Full Tilt Pro John Juanda. By the time Lisandro face Rodney Pardey, his chip lead was insurmountable.

Eventually, Pardey had to place all of his chips on the 4th street and although he managed to execute a Broadway straight, Lisandro won the bracelet and take home a total of $124,959 in 1st place cash prize.
