On November 19th, 2007, Chris Ferguson is the champion of the 2007 Harvey's Tahoe world series of poker Circuit (WSOPC) championship tournaments. Two strong hands in succession helped seal the win for Ferguson, who is now the only player to have won three WSOPC events.
When poker player Sylvester Geoghegan, finished in 4th place, Ferguson who started the final table with a good chip lead, was in 2nd place, ahead of Mark Bonsack. Dustin Fox was in the lead with $200,000 in chips compared with Ferguson, but things changed quickly. It was not luck but a strong play from Ferguson. Ferguson relegated Bonsack in 3rd place.
The 2000 World Series of Poker Main Event champion produced trip jacks during the turn and called when Bonsack bluffed during an all-in by using an ace high and no draw. Ferguson won the cash pot and became the new chip leader. In the next card hand, Ferguson raised $90,000 and Fox called.
The flop came with 2-s, 7-c, 10s and Ferguson checked. Fox wagered $100,000 and Ferguson take some time to think about the call. He then decided to make and the flop came with K-d. Ferguson checked for the second time and Fox decided to go all in. This is the fastest call Ferguson made for the whole tournament, felting the pocket ten cards for the whole set.
Fox possessed pocket aces and needed an ace on the river to stop the rockets from being broken. It was not meant to be as the J-c on the river put an end to Fox's dream of winning the championship. Ferguson won $203,751 and received a WSOPC ring. Dustin Fox won $119,333.
