avkid86 Wins the PokerStars Sunday Million

On July 28th, 2008, the attendance at PokerStars Sunday Million was smaller from last week when 8,370 participants bought in. The number of participants may have been smaller but the attendance and the cash poll were still significantly bigger than the usual average before the popular $2 million guaranteed Sunday Million that happened almost two weeks ago as part of PokerStars' times two poker promotion. The cash pool last night was $1,647,000, which awarded $200,000 to the eventual champion, barring a final table agreement.

The final 4 players in the event decided that the $127 difference between the 1st and 4th place winner was very big and they decided to do a by the chips division, leaving all of the 4 remaining players with a 6 figure payout. With the chopping rule, the eventual winner will take home $30,000. Pokerbrat13 secured the biggest part of the whole money pool as the chip leader. He was guaranteed to take home $138,078 but any of the remaining three players could surpass Pokerbrat13 in the event if they finished first.

Someone else was guaranteed to take home the biggest share of the cash pool in the event when pokerbrat13 finished in 3rd place after Gambooooool's 4th place finished. Avkid86 was the short stack when the agreement was made but was able to defeat strahhh25 to win the extra $30,000, putting his winnings at $138,101.

The final results of the event were: 1st, avkid86 with $138,101. 2nd, strahhh25 with $118,193. 3rd, Gambooooool with $113,017. 4th, tonijeromi with $58,590. 5th, dapoopta with $41,850. 6th, Jimboski30 with $29,295. 7th, gio_piso with $19,251 and DonC33 with $11,718.
