On October 1st, 2007, 25 year-old Ziv Bachar from Tel Aviv, Israel entered the final table of the APPT in South Korea as the overall chip leader and six hours after he was declared the champion. He won a total of $100,000.
He defeated a total of 186 poker players. Bachar also qualified for the APPT Seoul by playing at PokerStars rather than paying the $2,500 direct buy-in cost. During the poker tournament, he faced the likes of Joe Hachem, Isabelle Mercier and Dan Schreiber.
In the end, Mercier finished in 16th place while Schreiber finished in 8th place. Before the APPT Korea, Bachar was able to take home $95,000. Aside from that, he also won the $500 No-Limit Holdem event in Monte Carlo before the EPT Grand Final in 2006. He was able to cash in by finishing in 18th place at the same event this year.
Bachar will compete at the APPT Grand Final in Sydney, Australia on December 13th, 20070-December 16th, 2007 together with APPT Manila champion Bret Parise. Aside from his cash prize, he received a prize package for the final event of the PokerStars APPT. He defeated Jozef Berec from Australia in the heads-up showdown.
