Yan Chen, Simon Watt and Matthew Matros Wins World Series of Poker Bracelets

This past week gave poker fans a glimpse of how tough the 2010 WSOP (world series of poker) can get. At one point, there were six poker events all taking place at the same time, but by June 6th, 2010, Sunday, several of those poker events have reach its conclusion.

On June 7th, 2010, Monday, another round of poker events ended, with three players taking home WSOP bracelets. Simon Watt, Matthew Matros and Yan Chen all become World Series of Poker champions on the same day. Event#11 was a No-Limit Hold'em poker event that featured a $1,500 dollars buy-in. Watt outwitted Tom Dwan to take home the top cash prize of $614,248 dollars.

Dwan won a considerable consolation prize, taking home $381,885 dollars for finishing in 2nd place. David Randall also took home more than $250,000 dollars for finishing in 3rd place. Matthew Matros won the title in Event#12, a Limit Hold'em event that started with 625 poker players all vying for the $189,870 dollars 1st place cash prize. Matros outwitted Ahmad Abghari in the heads-up showdown to take home the WSOP bracelet.

Abghari won $117,272 dollars and Terrance Chan came in 3rd place, taking home $83,185 dollars. The top 63 players all won a part of the prize pool. The other poker event that ended on Monday was a two-seven Draw Lowball No-Limit tournament. Only 250 players participated in this event and Yan Chen won the title.

Chen, who is from Las Vegas, Nevada, won $92,817 dollars, more than the $1,500 dollars buy-in he paid to participate in the tournament. 28 players cashed in this tournament. Will all of the events ending, there are still three that were going on until Tuesday, June 8th, 2010.
