On May 29, 2007, with the first ever World Series of Poker Europe being held in London later this year as well as many players coming from different parts of the world to participate at the annual main event, Harrah's Entertainment Inc. has decided to make the first ever International Players Advisory Council (IPAC).
According to World Series of Poker Commissioner, Jeffrey Pollack, the main purpose of the IPAC is to give importance and focus to the needs of international poker players.
The International Players Advisory Council also serves as a communication channel between World Series of Poker management officials and poker players.
The board members of the IAPC are former World Series of Poker Main Event Champion Joe Hachem from Australia, Andy Black from Ireland, Ben Roberts from Britain, Donnacha O'Dea from Ireland, Gus Hansen from Denmark, Isabelle Mercier from Canada, Marcel Luske from Netherlands and Willie Tann from Britain.
Fellow poker player, Wendeen Eolis, has consented to serve as the Chairwoman of the IPAC and WSOP Commissioner, Jeffrey Pollack, will serve as the Executive Chairman of the Board.
The first event for the game of poker in 2007 is at the Rio All-Suite Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada on June 1, 2007 and the $10,000 WSOP Main Event.
