World Poker Association Welcomes Small Town Poker Tour

On October 18th, The World Poker Association, the non-governing body of tournament poker worldwide, announced the induction of its 3rd organizational member, The Small Town Poker Tour.

"The WPA is serious about creating a worldwide voice for all involved in poker. Their commitment to creating a code of ethics, rules and standards makes sense for the STPT to be part of", said STPT Founder, Mark Fracalossi.

"The WPA is thrilled to have the STPT on board and looks forward to their insight and contributions moving forward," said WPA Founder, Jesse Jones. "Their involvement speaks volumes to the necessity and longing for an organized and unified voice for tournament poker," Jones added.

Since the WPA was established in 2005, it has already had 800 members under its wing, including 40 founding members. It also boasts having some of the most illustrious figures in the game of poker as its members, such as Phil Helmuth, Joseph Hachem, Tom McEvoy, Phil Gordon, Gavin Smith, Mike Matusow, Barry Greenstein, Kristy Gazes, Kenna James and Steve Brecher.

The Small Town Poker Tour prides itself in being the world's largest amateur poker tour, holding events all over the world in search of the best amateur players. Moreover, the STPT also contributes substantially to charities.

"I encourage all STPT Players from around the world to join this worthy cause. The WPA is for anyone with an interest in poker from the amateur player to the Pro to casino and poker room employee's. The WPA will be one voice for all associated with poker", Fracalossi added.
