Vanessa Rousso Wins EPT Grand Final in Monaco

On April 30th, 2009, the PokerStars.com 25,000 euros European High Roller Championship attracted a diverse group of main event players, online players, legendary professional poker players and up-and-coming poker players. A total of seventy-nine poker players participated in the event including well-known poker players like Daniel Negreanu, Bertrand Grospellier, Yevgeniy Timoshenko, William Thorson, Dave Ulliot, Phil Ivey, John Juanda, Peter Eastgate, Ivan Demidov and others. Poker pro Florian Langmann led the group for a good part of the way but fell from his position 4th short of the championship.

It was poker pro Vanessa Rousso of Team PokerStars who pushed through the top in latter stages of the event and she won the top cash prize of 720,000 euros and claim the title of EPT Grand Final champion in Monte Carlo. The 8 players and their chip counts going into the final table were: Vanessa Rousso with 1,250,000 chips, Tony G. with 875,000 chips, Randy Dorfman with 487,500 chips, David Eldar with 385,500 chips, David Steicke with 347,500 chips, Florian Langmann with 274,500 chips, Andrew Feldman with 202,500 chips and William Thorson with 132,000 chips.

Both the final table of EPT Main Event and the high-roller tournament where played simultaneously with the EPT Main Event finishing first. The final payouts for the high-roller tournament are: Vanessa Rousso with 720,000 euros, Randy Dorfman with 434,000 euros, Tony G. with 257,000 euros, Florian Langmann with 188,000 euros, David Eldar with 138,000 euros, William Thorson with 99,000 euros, Andrew Feldman with 79,000 euros and David Steicke with 60,000 euros.
