Vanessa Rousso Reaches Semi-finals of the National Heads-Up Poker Championship

Poker pro Vanessa Rousso is on a roll these days. She was just named the newest Go Daddy Girl and appeared at the latest issue of Sports Illustrated's Swimsuit Issue. Now she is tearing apart fellow poker players one by one at the National Heads-Up Poker Championships on March 9th, 2009.

The event, which is being held in Las Vegas at Caesars Palace, is a battle of wits and will between the most talented poker players in the world. Vanessa Rousso has to go through each player to reach the semi-finals. Rousso could not have been more at a disadvantage when she drew poker great Doyle Brunson in the initial round of the tournament. She won that much and Phil Ivey was waiting for in the second round of the tournament and she also won that match.

Then it was against Paul Wasicka in the next round and Rousso also won that match. It seems that Rousso will get her well deserved break in the next match but she had to face fellow Team PokerStars member Daniel Negreanu to reach the semi-finals of the National Heads-Up Poker Championship. Rousso's fellow semi-finalists are Bertrand Grospellier, Huck Seed and Sammy Farha. Grospellier will be the first opponent of Vanessa Rousso in the semi-finals.

The champion of the event will take home $500,000. The runner up will take home $250,000 and the other two semi-finalists will take home $125,000. Everybody that made it to the round of 16 will take home at least $25,000.
