Twenty Remaining Players in Aussie Millions Poker

On January 18th, 2008, the third day of the Aussie Millions Main Event poker tournament has ended with twenty-two poker players moving into the next round and getting the opportunity to win the $1.65 million and other payout as the cash bubble was reached with the 80th elimination proceedings taking place at the Crown Casino facility in Melbourne.

The 98 poker players from the second day begin the day with Matthew LaGarde heading the total chip count and some tough players' intent on seating at the final table. Some of those pros include Tom 'durrr' Dwan and Kevin 'BeLOWaBOVe' Saul, together with pros like Mike Matusow, Jeff Lisandro, Erik Seidel, Kenna James, Erick Lindgren and Andy Black. Matusow and Lisandro were the early victims, unfortunately busting out before the cash bubble was reached and once this had happened, the event picked up with some big name players crashing out like two online poker stars, Erik Lindgren, Perry Friedman and Matt Matros.

When the field was scaled down to thirty six poker players, the tables were reformatted to a six handed format with poker pro Andy Black getting to the rail in 34th position following with a heads-up showdown with Erik Seidel and Matthew LaGarde edge out by Peter Ling in the twenty-six place earning a $40,000 payout.

The organizers of the event capped off the night when the total playing field was down to twenty-two participants with local favorite Antonio Casale in the lead with 1 513,000 chips, ahead of Nico Behling with 1 306,000 chips.
