J.C. Tran Triumphant at the $5k Five Diamond World Poker Classic Tournament

On December 12th, 2007, poker player J.C. Tran played well at the Five Diamond WPC, winning the $5k dollars No Limit Holdem event at the Five Diamond World Poker Classic. With this prize Tran's winning are over $520,000 and also climb into 2nd place in the 2007 Player of the Year race, only points away from leader David Pham.

Tran has a respectable year in 2007. Two final table finished at the Five Diamond Poker event and one victory, four cash ins at the world series of poker events, two cash ins at the World Poker Classic, including one win; a first place finish at the World Poker Challenge main event for $683,000, a second place finished at the Los Angeles Poker Classic main event for $1.17 million and a 6th place finish at the World Poker Open championship event.

Salvatore "Surly" Erna astounded a lot of people by finishing in 2nd place in this tournament for $300,000. The singer of Godsmack had finished solidly in the World Series of Poker Main Even two times, but this is his largest cash in. Mark Teltscher finished in 3rd place with $153,000 and David Williams finished in 4th place. The close Player of the Year race between Tran and Pham will make the main event for the Doyle Brunson poker tournament even more exciting.
