Tom Dwan to Face Sammy "any two" George at live durrrr Million Dollars Challenge

Although no specific date or location has been announced, poker pro Tom Dwan has found his first opponent for the live durrrr Million Dollar Challenge in London next month. Matchroom Sport, the event organizers, said on August 17th, 2009 that Sammy "any two" George has signed up to go up against the online poker phenom. George said that poker players like durrrr are normal for him and they are nothing special.

While Tom Dwan is regarded as one of the best high-stakes online poker players in the circuit right now, George has yet to make any significant mark on the poker world. He has become a familiar figure on televised poker in Great Britain after participating on The Big Game and Poker, where he made it to the semi-final. His biggest live event cash to date was a 21st place finish at the 2009 world poker tour Championship in Las Vegas this past April for more than $21,000, although George has built a reputation for himself in London biggest money games.

Dwan and George will face off over five hundred hands in a live heads-up match playing Pot-Limit Omaha or No-Limit Holdem with a $500,000 buy-in. The blinds will be set at $500,000 /$1,000 and once the match begins, neither can leave until the five hundred cards are played or they go broke.

Eddie Hearn, the Managing Director of Matchroom Sport, said that Sammy is one of the few poker players in the game who is willing to take some risks and he should not be underestimated. Dates, a location and three other players willing to face durrrr are expected to be announced in the near future.

The much publicized online durrrr challenge, with Dwan putting up $1.5 million to any challenger's $500,000, 4-tabling heads-up with a minimum $200 /$400 stakes over fifty thousand hands, is still in progress.
