On March 5, 2007, poker players gathered at the Table Mountain Casino for the 2007 World Series of Poker (WSOP) circuit tournament. The winner of the event was Sou Moua from Fresno. Moua won the top cash prize of $10,000 paid entry for the 2007 WSOP Main Event set for June 2007, airplane fare for 2 persons from Fresno to Las Vegas, Nevada and a 5 night hotel stay at the Rio All Suite Hotel.
Aside from the money, the participants at the tournament will be entered in the drawings of about $2,500 for each of the tournaments. The President and CEO of the Table Mountain Casino said that they are happy to host the WSOP circuit event and give poker players from the Central Valley the opportunity to join a world class poker event.
The buy-in cost for each player is $200 + $25 with a lone option for a $200 re-buy for about $2,000 tournament chips. The succeeding tournaments that will be held at the Table Mountain Casino are on March 19th, April 9th, April 23rd, May 7th, May 21st, June 4th and June 18th, 2007.
The casino is operated and managed by the Table Mountain Rancheria Band of Indians.
