The Start of the Premier League IV

The playoffs are finish; the roster is set and the Premier League IV gets underway in Las Vegas, Nevada on February 12th, 2010. Along with 2009 PartyPoker Premier League champion J.C. Tran, Phil Hellmuth, Daniel Negreanu, Roland de Wolfe, Vanessa Rousso, Phil Laak, Luke "FullFlush" Schwartz, David Benyamine and Tony G, the player roster now includes Team Party pro Ian Frazer.

Frazer secured his slot in the Main Event through a six-handed playoff on February 11th, 2010 that included fellow Team Party members Remy Biechel, Bodo Sbrzesny, Poker Hall of Fame inductee Mike Sexton, Felipe "Mojave" Ramos and special guest poker player Dragon Galic.

Frazer said that he feels that he can win the tournament and he is very happy to have made it to the Main Event. Also securing his slot in the $100,000 Main Event this week through a playoff with a group of fellow online poker qualifiers was 44 year-old Giovanni Safina, a civil lawyer from Palermo, Sicily. Safina qualified for a slot in the playoff in a 100 euros satellite on PartyPoker.

Safina said that this is the first time that he has been to Las Vegas. He said that the game of poker is a hobby for him although he has won 25,000 euros playing online poker before. He added that to reach the Premier League was always his dream and he is very happy for the opportunity to face against the best poker players in the circuit.

The first heat of the tournament takes place at the M Resort in Las Vegas, Nevada on February 12th, 2010 with Frazer playing against, Negreanu, Schwartz, Tran, De Wolfe, Timoshenko, Laak and Rousso. The Premier League IV features twelve preliminary single-table matches with each poker player competing in six.

Participants accumulate points based on where they place in each heat and the top four poker players will advance to the final. The next four participants play heads-up matches for the last two slots in the final where starting chip stacks are determined by the number of points earned in the preliminary round.
