Start of Aruba Poker Classic and United States Poker Championship

On October 2nd, 2007, the championship events for the UltimateBet Aruba poker Classic and the United States Poker Championship started. This year tournament of the USPC at the Trump Taj Mahal started on September 17th, 2007.

The USPC series is composed of nineteen events with buy-in costs starting from $350 to $10,000 main event. The USPC event was broadcast by ESPN for years but not this time around.

The sports network has stopped broadcasting of all tournaments that are not under the world series of poker banner. The United States Poker Championship no-limit poker holdem events have attracted a lot of participants but some of the other events like stud and Omaha poker failed to attract a lot of players.

The best day came the weekend of September 21st, 2007 when about 520 players participated in the $350 buy-in cost poker holdem event and 324 players participated in the $550 buy-in cost no-limit poker holdem event. Aside from that, the $5,500 main event of the APC started that day.

The APC used to be a part of the world poker tour event. A lot of the players in the APC qualified for the event with the help of UltimateBet. Poker players that are 18 years old and older can participate in the event, so it is a big possibility that only a few players under the age of twenty years old will be at the final table.

The main event of the APC is just one of the 9 events that will be take place at the Radisson Aruba Resort and Casino this week. All of the poker events will be no-limit poker holdem and the buy-in costs are at $550, $1,060 and $5,500.
