Small Town Poker Tour Visits New Orleans

The Small Town Poker Tour will continue their Pro Am Charity Series poker tournament with their next stop in New Orleans on March 23-25, 2007. The Small Town Poker Tour will stop at the John A. Alario Sr. Events Center located at the West Bank section of New Orleans for 3 days of exciting, charity poker games.

The main beneficiary of the poker tournament will be the Krewe of Choctaw. The tribe has been an integral part of the New Orleans Mardi Gras since 1935. The Choctaw Tribe has been a social organization since its founding, but they did not parade until 1939 when 10 used U.S. Government mail wagons were bought from a salvage company for about $50.00 each. The old wagons were the first Mardi Gras floats used by the Choctaw Indians.

The tournament will run for 3 days with the main poker event taking place on Saturday, March 24, 2007, with a warm up tournament on March 23, 2007. The Small Tour Poker Tournament (STPT) Founder, Mark Fracalossi, commented that he is happy that they were able to host the event in New Orleans and promote a piece of the Mardi Gras.

This is also a good event to help the state pull out of the Katrina disaster. The Small Town Poker Tour is the biggest amateur poker tour with the main goal of raising money for noteworthy charities and discovering the best amateur poker players around the world.

This tournament is the second of the Small Tour Poker Tournament's North American Leg of the STPT Pro Am Charity Series. The tournament is open to all poker players who have the goal of helping charitable organizations aside from showing their talents. The winner of the event will have the chance to compete in the STPT Pro Am Series Championship in Las Vegas.
