Sandness Champion of Northern Lights Casino Heartland Poker Tour

On September 18th, 2007, the Heartland poker Tour was held in Walker, Minnesota at the Northern Lights Casino. The winner of the event was Mark Sandness. Sandness, who was the self-employed owner and manager of investment real estate, outwitted more than 136 players to win his share of the $192,000 cash pool, which is more than $53,000.

Despite having some problems about attending the tournament, Sanders woke up at exactly 4:00 p.m. to drive from his home from Moorhead, Minnesota to make the 8:00 a.m. beginning of the tournament.

After a twenty-four hour game and the intensity of a televised tournament final table. Sandness outwitted all of his final table opponents. Sandness said that playing in the final table is really nerve wracking because all of the players are very talented.

The final result of the televised final table of the Heartland Poker Tour are: 1st, Mark Sandness who won $53,199; 2nd, Lawrence Barbetta who won $26,600; 3rd, Joe Big Bear who won $17,100; 4th, David Baxter who won $13,300; and Ray Babb who won $11,400 and James Mutchler who won $9,500.

Aside from winning the cash prize, Sandness was also given a $3,000 dollars HPT Championship Open Tournament slot. The next Heartland Poker Tour is scheduled for the Golden Gates Casino in Blackhawk, Colorado. The qualifiers will start on October 1st, 2007.

The main event will start on October 12th, 2007-October 14th, 2007. Because of the existing Colorado law, players do not have permission to buy into the main event directly so participants must go through an online qualifier.
