Ruthan Champion of WCOOP No-Limit Re-buy Poker Event

On September 19th, 2007, the PokerStars World Championship of Online Poker or WCOOP presented a quarter of a million dollars to the eventual champion. The tournament lasted for about eighteen hours.

The poker event, a $200 buy-in event, with a $15 entry cost, no-limit holdem rebuy poker tournament, has a $1 million. The tournament attracted 2,188 players to produce a cash pool of $1,322,800.

Among the well-known participants were Scott Freeman, who finished in 50th place for $3,402, PokerStars member Luca Pagano who finished in 36th place for $3,968, Randal Flowers who finished in 21st place for $5,688 and AMAK316 who finished in 29th place for $3,968.

There are two known players that are remaining in the final table: Chris "LUHMAN" Martin (who is currently in 15th position in the Card Player Online Player of the Year race) and puffinmypurp (who is currently in 21st position in the Online Player of the Year.

Puffinmypurp finished in 9th place and won $11,641. LUHMAN entered the final table as the chip leader. He carried his chip stack until the remaining players in the final table decided on a chop. The players agreed on a chips chop with $66,000 being awarded for the champion.

Kiwid10 was the chip leader at that point, followed by ruthan, LUHMAN and yojie. The two chip leaders, kiwid10 and ruthan, fought it out. Ruthan came out the winner, leaving kiwid10 shortstacked. Ruthan then played against LUHMAN in a heads-up game with a 2-1 total chip lead.

LUHMAN was holding an A-ten and ruthan was holding pocket kings. Ruthan's Kings prevailed in the end, leaving LUHMAN in 2nd place. LUHMAN won $109,241. Ruhman won the event and the extra $66,000. He won $198,126. Ruthan also won a gold WCOOP bracelet.
