PokerStars Sponsors High Heels Poker Tournament

The world's biggest online site, PokerStars, has hopped on board as the official sponsor of the all-women High Heels poker tournament (HPPT). Founded in 2007, the HPPT was made to empower and support women who had the will and ambition to become champions in the growing poker circuit.

Since then, the High Heels Poker Tournament has crowned countless champions and helped encourage even more growth in women's poker. The sponsorship of PokerStars should only help its cause. The founder of HPPT, Lauren Falla said on September 3rd, 2009 that PokerStars has all the qualities in an online poker partner that female poker players love: an outstanding variety of quick, entertaining games that vary from low buy-in sit and go and money games to serious poker tournament play, all in a setting where women can learn poker and polish their skills and truly become well-known poker players.

Lauren Falla said that with champions like Vanessa Rousso, Vicky Coren and Katja Thater, their players will have a new set of role models that they can look up to whether playing online or at live poker tables. The PokerStars sponsorship will include support for High Heels Poker Tournament's growing pool of tournaments, which started this month with a poker stop at the Turning Stone Resort and Casino in Verona, NY.
