PokerStars is giving its poker players the opportunity to win their way to the Bahamas for just $5.50 this weekend, all in the name of a good cause.
The top two poker players in a $5.50 satellite, scheduled on December 13th, 2009, Sunday at 4:00 p.m. ET, will win a trip to the Bahamas, four night's hotel accomodation at the Atlantis Resort and Casino on Paradise Island and the $5,000 buy-in cost for the January 8th, 2010 amFAR and PokerStars Charity poker tournament at the PokerStars Caribbean Adventure.
A number of well-known celebrities, sports superstars and poker pros are expecte to participate in the event and half the entire cash pool for the event will go to amFAR to support the non-profit group's research and help raise awareness on HIV/AIDS.
Already confirmed for the event are former National Hockey League great Mats Sundin, tennis superstar Boris Becker and Team PokerStars Pro Daniel Negreanu. Registration for the satellite event, which is capped at 2,000 players, is one a first come, first serve basis and is already underway.
