In 2006, Team PokerStars Pro Vicky Coren became the first female poker player to win an European Poker Tour event when she took down the London stop of the tour and former EPT presenter Kara Scott has amassed more than $500,000 in event earnings over the past fourteen months thanks to a 2nd place finish in the 2009 Irish Poker Open and a good performance in the 2008 world series of poker Main Event.
Getting inspiration from the performance of those two female poker pros, PokerStars has decided to give British female poker players a one-of-a kind way to win an all-expense paid trip to UK's capital and a slot in a major female-only poker event. From September 9th, 2009 until September 26th, 2009, PokerStars will be offering a series of freeroll events just for British female poker players.
The top 9 players each day will get a slot in the online final on September 27th, 2009 and the top ten finalists will win a slot at the 220 pounds European Poker Tour Ladies Game on October 5th, 2009. The prize package also includes a night in the 5-star Hilton Metropole Hotel, an opportunity to meet Coren and get a signed copy of her book. Coren said that by playing online, female players do not have to worry about the long hours.
