PokerStars Hosts New Poker Tour in Ireland and Great Britain

PokerStars is launching a new regional poker tour in Great Britain and Ireland. The PokerStars.com UK and Ireland Poker Tour (UKIPT) will offer nine poker events in regional locations providing poker players with what PokerStars is saying "a one-of-a kind poker experience at a reasonable level".

The poker events will have a different range of buy-in costs from 500 pound+50 pounds to 1,000 pounds+100 pounds for Great Britain-based poker tournaments and 1,000 euros+100 euros and 2,000 euros for poker events in Ireland. Team PokerStars poker pro Vicky Coren that this is an interesting addition to the live events of PokerStars. She said that the buy-in costs are large enough to make big cash pools.

The first UKIPT event will be held in Galway, Ireland from December 11th, 2009-December 14th, 2009 in the Radisson Hotel. The event will be held as part of the widely popular Irish Poker Championships. The first UK based UKIPT event will be held in Manchester from February 11th, 2010-February 14th, 2010.

The Grosvenor G-Casino will host the event. Poker events will also be held in Brighton, Nottingham, Killarney, Scotland and Dublin with the Grand Final being held as part of the PokerStars.com EPT London event next October.

Aside from the UKIPT title and prize money, all winners will earn a slot in the Grand Final. The UKIPT will also have its own Points Leader Board featuring different prizes for the top poker players at the end of the season including a PokerStars.com sponsorship in UKIPT event during the 2nd season for the top three poker players and 10,000 pounds freeroll for the top one hundred.

Daily satellites are already being offered on PokerStars for as little as $0.25 or 250 FPPs.
