On June 13th, 2009, two Pokerlistings writers remain in the hunt for the bracelet on 2nd day of the $1,500 NLHE tournament (Event twenty-four). Pokerlistings.se blogger Olle Sundin is currently sitting on a 240,000 chip stack after starting the day with 19,000 chips, while fellow Pokerlistings.com writer Martin Derbyshire is climbing the board with 100,000 chips. Only 103 participants remain in contention out of a starting playing field of 2,506 players.
Each remaining player is now guaranteed to take home $3,352. Sundin said that he thinks that it is really a fantastic tournament. He added that the playing structure is really appropriate for smaller poker events. Sundin said that the world series of poker is a good place to learn event poker. He said that usually, there one or two participants per table who do not have a clue on what they are doing.
Sundin, who makes his living in the circuit participating in short-handed poker games online, credited his substantial chip stack to his aggression on the game. The Swede's large hand saw him outflop an opponent's pocket of tens when his A-Q edges out a 2nd pair.
