On April 23, 2007, the poker tournament sponsored by Jennifer Harman produced around $100,000 which will mainly benefit the Nevada Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (SPCA). The 215 players that participated in the event include Mike Matusow, Patrik Antonius and even Daniel Negreanu.
The buy-in cost for the tournament was around $300 with the $200 rebuys that were available during the first hour for players and with the $200 add-on in the poker games. The Rebuys were a big hit amongst the players and there was more than $100,000 in the cash pool.
The first place champion received a $10,000 poker seat to the upcoming World Series of Poker Mai event, with the rest of the profit earned going to the Nevada SPCA.
The final heads-up showed Daniel Negreanu and Kirk Morrison, the chip leader at the WPT Championship. Morrison ended up winning the event against Negreanu and he said that he would give around 5% of whatever cash he earned at the WSOP Main Event to the Nevada SPCA.
