Poker.com Saves Poker Dreams

Poker.com kept to its promise of helping 10 players realize their dreams of going to the World Series of Poker 2006 tournament in Las Vegas. A prize package was promised by CnR poker to the 10 players, but CnR was not able to meet its financial responsibility.

Poker.com decided to step in and help the 10 "stranded" players, and offered to provide the funding for their trip to Las Vegas for the 2006 WSOP. They also shouldered the WSOP buy-ins.

Poker.com has already contacted most of the 10 players with the cooperation of CnR. Their trips have been reorganized and as of present, they are officially part of the poker.com family. Poker.com has even gone to the length of upgrading the 10 player's $11,000 package as promised by CnR, to $12,500 to be at par with all players who have won the same seats through Poker.com.

A lot of people have been expressing their approval at the generosity of Poker.com as seen on numerous poker forums and blogs around the world since the news release last week.

One of the players that was affected by the CnR poker hiccup with the nickname Caligard said: "I was one of the ones affected and this is an unbelievable gesture. Thanks Poker.com for your unbelievable generosity!"

'Big Poppa' is also ecstatic about the chance to realize his poker dream. "Wow! I mean, wow!!! I was one of the winners of a Main Event seat from CnR, and you have no idea what this means to me," he said.

Paul Cherry, director of Gaming for Poker.com has heard of the feedback that the company's decision has generated. "We have had so much great feedback from those affected as well as poker devotees in general since our announcement," he said. "Just like our players we are poker people, poker is more than a business to us."

"Our players are like family, as soon as we heard about the problem we knew we had to step in and help these players, because no one else would," he added.

The company is glad to welcome the 10 players to Poker.com Cherry said. "Contrary to some online reports we are an independent poker room, with our own poker software, run by a group of people with an amazing passion for poker. This wasn't about saving face for a network or bailing out CnR Poker, this was about poker industry people helping poker players. It's a good feeling to know we helped these players out and they will now be representing Poker.com at the WSOP."

For other poker enthusiasts who are hoping to join the WSOP, Poker.com has decided to give away another seat to this year's main event through a special free-roll tournament. All you have to do is sign up at Poker.com and make your first deposit by using coupon code WSOPFREEROLL before July14. Registered users will also be given a 100% deposit bonus in addition to the entry to a World Series of Poker main event free-roll on July 15.
