PKR.Com Held Charity Poker Event for One to One Children's Fund

On May 13th, 2008, PKR.com collaborated with non-profit organizations One to One Children's Fund to help disadvantage children from different parts of the world. A lot of celebrities like Jamie Oliver and Teddy Sheringham, collaborated together to raise some money for the charity at the One to One PKR.com charity poker/backgammon event.

The event was held at the classy Sketch restaurant for a night of great poker and backgammon events. The yearly event produced a total of 200,000 pounds for the charity. The 365 pounds buy-in cost (which is the total cost of supporting a child for a year at one pound per day) included a champagne party plus the buy-in cost to the PKR poker tournament or the 8th Annual Omar Sharif Backgammon event.

Non-participating spectators were also cordially invited to grace the event and attend the champagne party and auction. The biggest bidder donating to the charity took home different prizes like a signed Arsenal and Chelsea football jerseys, dinner for two at fifteen, a signed copy of Harry Potter and a walk-on part in the next Terry Pratchett movie. Some of the guests in the event are Jamie Oliver, Dexter Fletcher, Teddy Sheringham, Norman Pace and others.

Some professional poker players who have participated in the tournament are WSOPE Main Event first runner up John Tabatabai and Women's World Open Champion Beverley Pace. Leticia White was declared the champion of the event, taking home 4,000 pounds aside from a trophy and gift bags.
