Phil Laak to Replace Doyle Brunson in the PartyPoker.com Premier League IV Roster

Poker pro Phil "The Unabomber" Laak will replace Doyle Brunson in the PartyPoker.com Premier League IV kicking off in Las Vegas, Nevada on Friday. The PartyPoker.com World Open V champion was asked to come on board when legendary poker pro Brunson bowed out of the roster due to dental surgery. Laak said that this is the most money he has ever wagered against a tough playing field he has ever faced.

Laak said that his opponents have collectively more than $45 million in poker tournament winnings. The M Resort Spa Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada will host the PartyPoker.com Premier League IV on February 12th, 2010-February 18th, 2010 with defending champion J.C. Tran, Yevgeniy Timoshenko, Roland de Wolfe, Phil Hellmuth, Vanessa Rousso, Daniel Negreanu, Luke Schwartz, Tony G. and David Benyamine all participating in the $100,000 buy-in event.

PartyPoker also ran poker qualifiers to find a total of 16 poker players who are all in Las Vegas to participate in a Premier League main event. Aside from that, one of the sixteen poker qualifiers will be chosen by PartyPoker to receive a $100,000 Team Party contract.

Both the play-off and the tournament's main event will be filmed for television. Tran won the PartyPoker.com Premier League III and its $300,000 1st place cash prize, defeating a final table that included Tom "durrrr" Dwan, Tony G., Juha Helppi, Roland de Wolfe and Peter Eastgate.

This is the first year that the PartyPoker.com Premier League will be held in Las Vegas and the Forbes Four Star M Resort is honored to play host to the event.

Joseph A. Magliarditi, Executive Vice President and COO of M Resort, said that the Premier League Poker has been very successful. He said that the tournament is uniquely structured and lures some of the best poker players in the world. He added that they are looking forward hosting the event this year.

With 92,000 sq. ft. of gaming space, 390 guest rooms and suits, nine restaurants and 5 destinations bars, more than sixty thousand sq. ft. of meeting space, a state-of-the art spa and fitness facility and a 100,000 sq. ft. events piazza. The Director of events organizer, Matchroom Sport, Eddie Hearns, believes that M Resort is the perfect venue for the Premier League.
