There are only a few players that go off at a 2.5 to 1 against taking home a bracelet in a single world series of poker. Poker pro Phil Ivey take those odd on himself and cashed in big by winning the $2,500 dollars Deuce-to-Seven Lowball event.
Ivey prevailed on the dramatic changes at the final table to edge out John Monnette in the heads-up showdown. The victory gives Phil Ivey his 6th World Series of Poker bracelet and a 1st place cash prize of $96,361 dollars. Ivey said that he don't play that much Deuce Poker, so he is pretty happy and proud that he won the event and considers it a major accomplishment.
While the 1st place cash prize and the bracelet are very important, they are no match with the money this triumph earned him in side wagers. Daniel Negreanu admitted that he is in the hole with Phil Ivey during a break in the ten thousand dollars Mixed Event.
