On March 26, 2007, it was announced that Phil Ivey will be making his long awaited appearance on "High Stakes Poker". By the time he reached the age of 30, Mr. Ivey had already won an astounding 5 World Series of Poker bracelets and a total of over $7.5 million in poker winnings, which will make him one of the most prolific and successful players in the history of the game of poker.
Phil Ivey is especially feared in the "high-stakes" poker and with the "High Stakes Poker" show; TV audiences will get the "ring" side view of the legendary skills of Mr. Ivey. The "High-Stakes Poker" show will be aired on the GSN Network at 9:00 p.m. EST.
Ivey is considered one of the best poker players in the world, but he will face considerable opposition in the likes of David Williams, Daniel Negreanu, Mike Matusow, Phil Laak, Brad Booth, Brian Towsend, John D'Agostino, Anton Esfandiari and David Benvamine.
The 3rd season of the "High-Stakes Poker" show will feature poker players that will face-off in a no-limit Texas Hold'em game with a buy-in cost of $100,00, with some of the players paying as much as $1 million. If they do bust, they can go again if they pay $50,000.
There is no set ending on the game. The blinds will stay at $300, the big blind will stay at $600 and the ante of $100 per hand.
