Phil Ivey Chip Leader at Mirage Poker Showdown

May 23, 2007: Is Phil Ivey preparing to compete at the WSOP or will he follow his original plan of playing in the $50,000 worth H.O.R.S.E. and the 2007 WSOP Main Event with a $10,000 buy-in cost?

Based on his performance at the Mirage Poker Showdown, Ivey might want to reevaluate his World Series of Poker plans and add a new championship bracelet to his expanding collection.

Ivey has played exceptionally well in the Mirage Poker Showdown and is currently in the lead in the 6th man tournament which will begin later that day.

This is a World Poker Tour event, so the champion will get $1 million and a seat at the WPT Championship at the Bellagio Casino next year.

The final table should be an entertaining one with a good mix of poker pros and online players. Ivey currently holds a total of 1.4 million in total chips. Cory "UGOTPZD" Carroll is in 2nd place in total chips.

Cory Carroll played on Pokerstars with a $100 rebuy. Another known name at the final poker table is Darrell "Gigabet" Dicken who has 1.203 million in total chips.

The online name "Gigabet" has been well known among online poker players for a long time now. Some other players at the final table are Richard Kirsch, Jonathan Little and Amnon Filippi.
