Online Players Win at Scottish Poker Championship

Dave Masters and Duncan Meekison, online qualififers from PaddyPowerPoker.com battled through the Scottish Poker Championship at the Gala Maybury Casino in Edinburgh, an event of 103 participants. The duo reached the final table of the 1,000 pound sterling main event, making them eligible to get their hands on the 103,000 pound sterling prize pool of the Scottish Championship.

Rory Mathews was named champion when the final three players including Dave Masters divided the remaining prize money evenly, each receiving 24,000 pound sterling. Duncan Meekison also finished quite impressively at 5th place, bagging 7,210 pound sterling in the process.

Masters is now a force to contend with, ranking 18th in Europe by late and has cashed in more than 100,000 Euro so far in 2006.

�This is by far my best achievement as it wasn't on home soil. I've been on the circuit six months now and I've played six major tournaments this year and have final tables in three of them," Masters said.

�The field was full of quality players but I didn't mind. I just played my normal game. By day two I fancied myself to do really well, maybe a final table finish and as soon as I heard I was the only one of the Irish mob left, that in its self drove me to do well," he added.
