As of May 12, 2007, the National Poker League was scheduled to launch the Paris Open this week. The Paris Poker Open should be the beginning of the 2007 Worldwide Poker Tour of the National Poker League.
The poker tournament should have been filmed for a later broadcast date on television as part of the National Poker League tournament.
The event in honor of the game of poker, which was supposed to begin on Sunday, May 13, 2007 and end on May 22, 2007, can possibly continue as a local poker tournament in France but will no longer be under the National Poker League Banner.
Sam Riddle, the NPL President of Media said that they are sad to tell their players, sponsors and media partners about their decision on the matter.
He added that the problems with the poker tournament in France and the stand of the French Government against gambling led to the National Poker League's decision.
Riddle said that their main focus remains on expanding the global poker community and they want to continue to offer the best possible poker option to European players as soon as the problem is resolved.
They will be announcing the schedule for the next tournament soon. The next stop of the National Poker League is the U.K. Poker Open which is supposed to start in August 2007 at the Loose Canon Club.
